McCain trails Clinton but leads against Obama

May 8, 2008

Good news for Hillary comes a little too late

My new national projections (last poll ending May 4th) are:

Hillary Clinton 46.78
John McCain 43.88

John McCain 47.12
Barack Obama 43.57

This is good news for Hillary, although it is clearly too late. More importantly McCain has a lead over Obama, although at only 2.55% it is too small for comfort. Given that the contest is likely to shift into general election mode McCain really needs to take the last few days of the primaries to overhaul his staff, move to the centre and start focusing on Iraq and foreign policy in his speeches.
