June 16, 2008Why a McCain/Lieberman ticket would be good for the Republican ‘base’
Finally someone on the Republican right has picked up on my point that selecting Lieberman would be good for McCain because it would leave the contest in 2012 and/or 2016 wide open. It also must be pointed out that this argument should work for Hillary supporters as well, with Lieberman leaving the way open for a Clinton candidacy in 2012 in a way that selecting a female Republican wouldn’t.
